Awards can do a lot for you.
They can help you attract admirers, open up new opportunities, and inspire you to do more great work. But for young creatives, it could be a case of too much, too soon. Many of them become complacent. Cocky, even. Losing their appetite for hard work and learning.
That's why in collaboration with the Crowbar Awards, a student award show, we constructed their trophies from 100% chocolate. So that the winners can 'eat up, move on and stay hungry'.
Notes:
We knew that for the idea to work, the medium has to be message. Our production brief was to recreate the iconic Crowbar trophy with chocolate. We decided to work with Janice Wong on this as she’s prominent in her field and has an eye for aesthetics. There were even plans to have the trophies done up in different flavours of chocolate but we quickly learnt that only a specific dark chocolate could hold the weight of the brittle Crowbar trophy.
Most of the winners ended up feasting on their trophies by the end of the award ceremony.
